I just got back from my first Indian wedding and perhaps the most spectacular wedding I've ever been to! The celebrations lasted for 5 nights and took place in Mykonos, Greece. I was asked by my good friend Faarah, the bride, to help out with designing the wedding stationary, website and wedding collateral. The idea was to create an unconventional invite that reflects the mood and spirit of the destination and celebrations. The bride, being obsessed with caricatures and all things illustration wanted an illustrative invitation and have the theme run throughout all other wedding items: roll-up banners, luggage tags, gift hampers and the wedding events guide booklet. As it was a destination wedding, Faarah wanted to incorporate the landscape of Mykonos and its colours -blue and white. It was a fantastic project to work on, I loved working with Faarah who has a great eye for detail and an open mind for experimenting!
The Entertainment Design Company (EDC) took care of the production for the wedding box, card, bag and hamper gift tote bag. The designs perfectly reflected the mood, the shindigs and merrymakers. And perhaps my favourite souvenir to keep from this event, other than the many photos i took, is the invite! Definitely a keeper!
